Hotel California still has the right ambience

At least according to an report in the Dallas news. Credit’s regarding this content go to the Dallas news and Alfredo Corchado. The gentleman might been “real” gripped by nostalgia he writes about cause some of the statements we can with the best will not reproduce or acknowledge. Highway 19 is badly paved, a narrow ribbon between desert and Pacific Ocean that leads to rock ‘n’ roll legend. ( did not made the experience and just drove there a few days ago). In fact there is work going on to make it a a 4 lane freeway. All roads in this tranquil artists’ village lead to a decades-old hotel where a friendly Canadian owner, Debbie Stewart, breaks into a huge smile and says coyly to visitors, “Welcome to the Hotel California.” Next door, mission bells toll, and across the street at a bar called Tequila Sunrise, the song “Hotel California” blares from a jukebox for the fifth time in two hours. If this isn’t the real thing, it’s darned close to the Hotel California of one of rock’s greatest hits. Continue reading this post…

Careful about El Calendario de Todos Santos

Posted in February 19th, 2008

Just an advise for our Todos Santos readers - please be careful when subscribing to the publicly promoted RSS feed of the El Calendario de Todos Santos blog! We are strongly advising you to verify first if you can subscribe to this news feed.

As some of you might not know: RSS is commonly defined as really simple syndication. So, this means that any material contained in a feed is available for syndication. It means that the content contained in an RSS feed is in a format that is syndication friendly, if the copyright holder allows for syndication - announcing and - even encouraging - to subscribe to a feed WITHOUT laying out any restrictions clearly readable concerning a feed is allowing syndication. Maybe the webmaster at El Calendario is not real up to par in his accusations and we are happy to explain here in detail.

Howard Ekman complain about his own published RSS feeds

This as a general explanation on RSS, if you plan to take the offer to subscribe from this publisher you might mail him first at info@elcalendariodetodossantos.com to see if you have permission to do so. The rest of the story - you can fill yourself in on the situation by reading the e-mail sent to us, you can do so by clicking the thumbnail, plus you can read our reply to the false accusations. 2007 Baja 1000 - Todos Santos

Posted in November 8th, 2007

May change, but here is the tentative route. As announced by Sal Fish on www.score-radio.com
The course is the same as the 2007 Baja 500 between Ensenada and Mike's Sky Ranch. But then instead of going left, it will right and then to El Coyote and on to San Telmo West and then east behind Meling Ranch and onto Santa Domingo and El Marmol and then Catavina on Hwy 1 until you get to the Chapala turnoff to Coco's.
When you get to Coco’s Corner the race course reverts back to the same as the 2006 Baja 1000 to just before La Paz where it turned left to go to La Paz; nstead you go straight to Todos Santos and cross the Hwy before the town and into the mountains and onward to Cabo.

The basic route: Race Start: Ensenada, Ojos Negros, Jamau, Valle Trinidad, Mike's Sky Ranch, El Coyote, San Telmo (West), Meling Ranch (East), Santa Domingo, El Marmol, Catavina (Highway to Chapala), Coco's Corner, Calamajue Wash, LA Bay, El Arco, San Ignacio, El Datil, Scorpion Bay - San Juanico, Loreto, San Javier, Insurgentes, Constitucion, Santa Rita, Punta Conejo, El Tomate, Todos Santos and Cabo San Lucas.

Might be interesting for Todos Santos builders

Posted in October 16th, 2007

There is some construction work going on and we like to announce that Eco y Eco now is also servicing the southern Baja with their solar water heaters and solar boilers. That might be interesting for Todos Santos contractors, Todos Santos plumbers or just the "regular" builder working on his new home or remodeling an existing T.S. retreat. Besides the environmental positive impact you can also save up to 90% on your energy bill. CFE in Todos Santos, heck everywhere will not like to hear that…… You can visit their blog by clicking the banner.

Or visit the Eco y Eco website by click this link. They have also english spreaking staff in their just opened location in Rosarito and deliver install or ship for d.i.y. installation all over the Baja.
